The Post which Tries to Catch the Eye of the Waitress

Hello I'm back again after a near 4 month hiatus!

I'm not sure what brings me back to writing again. I feel that my fingers is all rusty from the lack of typing since my enlistment quite a few months back. But i guess it's just an attempt to jump-start my brain.





Well it's been quite a while since my last post last year end so here I am providing an update about myself.

January marked the goodbye of my pink I/C (will be sorely missed) and the beginning of my unwilling incarceration in a certain green uniform. Needless to say my life has changed drastically since then and I'm still trying to get used to it.

February saw me leaving the sandy shores of Tekong to the seasides of Changi Naval Base after I was posted out of BMTC following my recurring knee injuries. I will have to go for a recourse of BMT in exchange for learning how to drive military vehicles.

March was spent in the confines of the naval base in a blue uniform this time, sleeping away and enjoying tasty navy chow. I also received my A level results which I am content enough with.

And this month, in the hot and wet April, I chugged up and down the eastern side of Singapore in Landrovers and 3-Tonners (a type of big army truck) at 50km/h, baking in the hot engines and merciless afternoon sunshine.

Pretty fast isn't it? Nearly 4 months of the year have past already!





Anyway, here I am typing away to myself in front of my laptop, enjoying yet another of my silent coffees. It's another quiet weekend ahead.

I have quite a few things to look forward to though.





First up I have my final driving test for my 3-tonner this coming Wednesday. A pass will allow me to pack up my bags in Sembawang Camp and head for home sweet home. A failure will see me wallow in self pity and agony for at least few more days before I can retake my test.

As you probably can imagine, I want to pass the test quite badly.




On another hand I have a MOE Teaching Award interview to contend with on the following Monday. The funny thing is that I had given all hope today after a fruitless 2 week wait, only for them to call me today.

I haven't been for any interviews before so I'm up to my armpits for this one. I'm open to all sorts of advice anyone can give. =)
