The Post which has the Jelly on the Belly

Damn, two days of leave just went past like that?

Well, it was still well spent in my opinion. I welcomed them as a break from driving and it feels great that my office didn't call me for the past four days!

It's back to work tomorrow again. At least it's a short week. Well, made artificially short by me I guess. Haha.

I got a weekend worth of activities lined up so I can't wait for three more days to pass. After another emotional and pissed-off week of work last week I'm starting to feel optimistic and happier about life again.

Loads of thanks out to Chengliang, Wanqi, Dawn and Yuyang for talking and making me laugh. Haha =D

I don't often post up football news in my blog, but this is something different.

Out of nowhere news came that Robbie Keane of Tottenham Hotspurs might be joining Liverpool. Robbie bloody Keane!

I loved him as a striker. Creative and really good poacher for goals. He played seriously well and I didn't know that he was a childhood fan of Liverpool. Damn, and this morning news came out that he is officially a Liverpool player!

Pictures shamelessly ripped from liverpoolfc.tv. The brilliant coach and the brilliant player. Keano's going to wear the number 7 strip, which he will look great in.

Unfortunately, not everyone is excited by this news. Especially not Reuben, my dear friend of 0706, a fervent supporter of Robbie Keane in Spurs.

Naturally, when news came out that the Spurs striker will now play for another club, I couldn't help but text him to make fun of him.

"Hey bro. Jus wanna tell u tt you will never walk alone man. So will robbie keane. Its time u moved on too. HAHA."

Minutes later..

"bloody hell no way man stupid keane traitor to spurs idiot man no future with a hasbeen club like liverpool hahaha"

Typical Reubs reply. Defiant, long and without punctuation! Try reading it out fast. It sounds like him talking eh?

Three more days to the weekend! Charge!!

The Post which Met The Dog with A Broken Smile

Weekend once again!

This week has been quite a meaningful one to me. More like I've been able to settle some personal problems in my NS life.

With the arrival of my boss back to my unit (he just came back from some courses), the discipline of my unit life has stepped up considerably. It seems like hell is starting all over again.

I guess frustration and defiance built up in me over many things and I felt, I don't know, stuck? Just a lot of angst, confusion and complaints that was trapped in me and there wasn't an outlet.

Sitting in my 5-tonner in some outfield location, staring out at the rainy skies, somehow or other an internal peace came over. So I began to think through things calmly and guess I manage to feel better at the end of it.

Conclusion: NS is bad for your mental health. Ha.

Spent my weekend with the CoDG once again. Thought I'd ask Renjie and Jiaqing along but both of them weren't free. Yongliang is confined over the weekend (poor guy) so company is small.

We went around Vivocity, which is gonna be our new hideout soon. I went there just on Thursday after a unexpected early release from work and man it's a good place to shop now with all those sales!

Ate at Superdog for the first time. This girl at the counter who was serving us, you have to see her. Brilliant smile all the time. Alvin got a big laugh out of it when he was, as usual, fumbling with his words.

She should get a good service award. LOL. Thumbs up.

Basketball tomorrow once again! And man it's a long weekend since I'm on leave on Monday and Tuesday. Hooray!

The Post which Threw Some Magazines and Ate Some Icecream

I haven't did such quizzes since.. secondary school? Haha let's try one today.

tag 8 people to do this quiz & those who are tagged cannot refuse. these people must state who they were tagged by & cannot tag the person whom they were tagged by. continue this game by sending it to other people.

#1 if your lover betrayed you, what will you reaction be?
---> Kill the man (if he's involved), screw my girlfriend, with my rifle and my buddy and me. =)

#2 if you can have a dream to come true, what would it be?
---> Oho, easy one. Instant ROD. Ha!

#3 what will your dream wedding be like?
--->Beach wedding! Because I love the seas. I picture a seaside villa, comfortable environment and a really nice sunset.

#4 are you confused as to what lies ahead of you?
---> Not much, I got it pretty much planned out.

#5 what's your ideal lover like?
---> Someone could can laugh at herself, myself and take things easy. Be adaptable, be truthful and be loving to those she cares about.

#6 which is more blessed, loving someone or being loved by someone?
---> I can't decide this. Gotta be both ways in my opinion. But knowing that you're loved and loving that person is surely the best!

#7 how long do you intend to wait for someone you really love?
--->Depends on what you mean by waiting. I can't wait for her if she's like two hours in the toilet. Haha. But if she's worth the wait then I would for as long as I can last.

(Is this some kinda love quiz?)

#8 if the person you secretly like is already attached, what would you do?
---> Refer to the first part of the answer of question 1.

#9 is there anything that has made you unhappy these days?
---> A few things in work. But I'm remaining positive and optimistic so I'm generally quite happy with how things are going in life.

#10 is being tagged fun?
---> Not bad. Pretty good when I'm running out of interesting things to write about.

#11 how do you see yourself in ten years time?
---> Hopefully stable in life. Be a young and hip teacher (LOL), spending time with my family and old friends. And it'll be good to have a long time girlfriend.

#12 who are currently the most important people to you?
---> My family, CoDG and my really close friends (I actually have a real list) and my relatives.

#13 what kind of person do you think the one who tagged you is?
---> Closest female friend of mine! Haha. Known her for ages. She's really nice and fun to hang out with.

#14 would you rather be single & rich or married but poor?
---> Single and rich. Cause if you're rich, sooner or later you'll be married. True right?

#15 what's the first thing you do every morning?
---> Wake up and open my eyes. Look at my clock and go "WHAT THE F***!"

#16 would you give all in a relationship?
---> If it's a real relationship, yes.

#17 if you fall in love with two people simultaneously, who would you pick?
---> I'll go with the Harvey Dent method. Toss a coin. 50:50 "FAIR!"

#18 what type of friends do you like?
---> Basically people whom I can say things out without censoring or filtering myself. People who can share experiences with me and go all out to have fun.

#19 what type of friends do you dislike?
---> Here I have to make clear that I usually dislike the things people do, not them personally.

tagged by: wanqi

here are the 8 lucky people who's gonna be tagged:
I don't have eight friends who have blogs. o.o Whoever wants to do it, by all means!

Pretty interesting quiz. Took a bit of my time too!

It's Wednesday and it's been a slack few days. Gonna be a predictably slack Thursday and Friday. Hope they won't touch my weekend again.

Renjie had me in fits the whole week. Each time I see him he's wildly optimistic about army life. I saw him a few times in camp and he's always saying.

"Wah. After recourse then November. Then it's one more year only. ORD LO!"

NUTS! Haha. But I love that attitude of his.

Last bit, hang in there Wanqi. It'll be over soon! =D

The Post who Should Read the Instruction Manual

Alright it's been a crazy few days once again.

Thursday night I wasn't feeling the greatest, so I went to bed early. Like real early, it was about 9:30pm or thereabout I think. Pop some Paracetamols, dim the lights and I was knocked out within a few minutes.

Next thing I knew, I was having a headache the size of Nevada. Seriously bad, it felt like someone hammering at the walls of my skull. And then my nose was blocked so I couldn't breathe well.

To make things worse, an hour later I was feeling real cold. The type of chills you get when you have a fever. Uh-oh.

That must have been one of the worst nights I've been through. I don't fall sick usually, but once I do it's always a bad case.

I called back my office a couple of times and was given the permission to report sick outside. Honestly, the procedure and paperwork was so complicated and tedious that for a moment I felt I should have just crawled back to camp and collapsed in front of them to prove I was really sick.

Just strictly my opinion, if a person is really sick, why don't you just let him see a bloody doctor and explain things later on?

Anyway I got a three day MC for my troubles. When I reached home I proceed to have the longest hours of sleep in my life.

Thursday 9:30pm to Friday 6:30am. 11:30am to 2:00pm. 2:30pm to 8pm. 8:30pm to 12:00am of Saturday. 12:30am to 8:30am. All spent sleeping. Shiok man!

I'm feeling better already so that means it's time to return to work tomorrow. =(

Caught The Dark Knight last night. One word: amazing!

It was a movie many had high hopes on and it didn't disappoint. I caught its first film and it was a really good movie already. Plus it's the last movie that Heath Ledger acted in so it was a must-watch.

Such a beauty ain't he?

Honestly, his acting was so so good. I got creeped out at certain moments already. If there was real life Joker like the one in the movie, we're all in serious shit.

This movie has a overall dark mood to it, and I mean really dark. It made the previous movie look like a comedy! But it's also a film that sets you thinking about the dark side of human nature. Hm..

Leave you folks with that thought in mind. Hope for a good week of work ahead!

The Post who Knows Just a Little

Right it has been an eventful few days. Real busy too so I haven't got the time to post stuff out.

I've been driving quite a bit recently, so the mileage is racking up nicely. Although driving can be quite a chore sometimes, I just keep thinking about my free license to push me on. Haha.

Start off with Monday, my unit was dismissed from work real early. Went out with Cheryl and Jiahui (thanks loads for the company) to catch Red Cliff.

Really good movie, it's length is enough to make your money worth it. I'm not a big fan of Takeshi Kaneshiro but he acted pretty well as Zhuge Liang in this film. Definite must watch!

Fast forward to Wednesday, this is where things got interesting.

It was morning when I received a letter stating my official down-PES to C2L1. That's the good news. Bad news is, it's only for 6 months instead of the recommended length of a year!

After that I drove two clerks from camp to SAF Ferry Terminal, because they were crossing over to Tekong to collect stuff.

The last time I was there, it was in February, wearing my number 4 and lugging my shitload worth of stuff back home from after receiving my posting orders as a driver.

I sat there waiting for the two return, when the peace of the terminal was broken with the arrival of many buses. I looked out and it turns out to be JC school kids!

I presume they are coming over for their Learning Journey, as I did for mine when I was in JC2 (feels like a looong time ago). Pioneer and Raffles JC was there. LOADS OF HOT GIRLS! =D

Anyway, after a while I sent Chengliang a message, saying that I wondered when I was coming back for recourse BMT, being worried that it would fall out of PES C2L1 period.

Someone up there must have heard me, as around half an hour I received a call from Renjie saying that we are both going for recourse this October.

Talk about divine intervention!

Well, it was also my first stay in at LTO last night. Quite uneventful, unless you count the unusually big number staying over.

Our bunks are sadly not the cleanest, and this morning I was feeling really sick. Reported sick in camp for the first time in five months, got some medication and slacked off.

It was supposed to be my CO's evening tonight. We went for a great dinner at our Central Spec Mess. The rest went for a NE trail with Asia Paranormal Investigators while I was allowed to go home and sleep and rest.

The thing is, I would really have wanted to go for the trip (sounded pretty interesting I guess!) but man I was konked out.

There's a chance my weekend might be burned again. I hope some higher being helps me out because I have my Saturday planned out really nicely this time round.....

The Post which is Off to Pluck Mushrooms

The rain that has been threatening to fall over the past few days finally did, and man it has been some crazy weather out there!

It's been another two reeeally relaxing and slack days in camp. Most of our workload which is planned for the whole day usually gets completed in the morning, and we spend the rest of the time talking and sleeping.

Over the past weeks I've made some good friends which I didn't expect to. Not all of them are of the same age, some are 2 years older, and my instructor (49 years old this year) talks to us like close friends.

That's a real neat feature about NS. Age isn't a boundary to us. So long you put on a green uniform, we're fellow sufferers-in-arms. Haha.

One of my friends is called Tong. And man, when we talked to each other today, I realise it's a real small world after all.

Called back to my unit today, and then heard the dreaded words, "Sorry to tell you ah, but you need to come back on Sunday for... ...."

Whole Sunday. All planned out. Burned.

Sigh.

The Post which Took a Train to Malaysia

Three more days to Sembawang Camp.

Got quite a scare this morning when my bus didn't come at all at the usual time. 20 minutes late! Rushed and ran and I prove once again it was possible to reach camp in an hour's time. LOL

Today's course took slacking into a whole new level. First lesson was around an hour's theory work. After that was a practical which we took out and changed a car's wiper.

After that, we slept and talked for the rest of the day! That's S and T of MSET for you, sleep and talk.

This few days in camp I've been seeing many of my driving course group's trainers around. They are onto their next batch. It's real good to be able to meet them and say hi and stuff like that.

Over the years, a teacher will have many students who will learn from him. Not just lessons on coursework and knowledge, but hopefully skills and lessons in life too.

A teacher may have many batches of students who come and go. Inevitably as time goes by he will surely forget some or most of them, but students will always remember who taught them the most.

My driving instructor Mr Rizal, an extremely nice fellow, met me today and it only seemed yesterday that I saw him for the first time nearly 4 months ago. He still asks his students to keep in contact and asks us out (nearly impossible to do so) but I'd appreciate the thoughts and efforts.

So I really hope I would be able to achieve that as a teacher next time. Haha..

After my two cents' worth on teachers and my aspirations, it's back to my mundane life again.

Ironical that given my stagnating life, the dreams I'm having at night seem to be going quite the opposite directions!

I'm having dreams of escalating degrees of weirdness, creepiness, supernaturalism and humour, all of which I could use a little of in my real life.

Wednesday tomorrow, three more working days to the weekend folks!

The Post which has the Banana, Fallen Camp Pass and Fat Brownies

Yet the end of another week, haven't been blogging recently cause I'm reaching home pretty damn late!

Tuesday marks the start of August. The day where my student EZ-link card is officially expired and I no longer can use it.

The thing is that I didn't receive my army card since I got posted out of BMT. Now I'm stuck with a random card which I have to top up frequently. Damn troublesome.

Saturday was another tennis day. This time we're improving in terms of our play. As a beginner and a recreational sport, it's as fun as ever. Once again we home-runned two tennis balls.

I think we should really buy balls to replace poor Audrey LOL. But some tennis balls are ridiculously expensive so I don't know where to get them!

After that we ordered in pizza and chilled out for pretty long. We went around Tampines and sat down at Hans. Talked cock for seriously long and relived the DL moments.

It's really great to reminisce about old stuff!

One more week to the end of MSET. Then it's back to Changi. Honestly I'm not sure which one I prefer more.

The Post which is On and Off

Today is SAF day.

It isn't noted on the calender so it's worth mentioning... I guess. I didn't know why this day was created. My sister suggested that it was the day SAF was formed and it was made compulsory for men to serve the nation.

Then, why is it worth celebrating?

Nevertheless, we had to report to Sembawang Camp at 0700hours. 7 o'clock!

I woke up at 5, waited from 6 to 7 until a taxi came. We then sped down the expressways like a fire engine, allowing me to reach Sembawang at 7:30am at a cost of $21 of my personal fortune.

I was late, but no one noticed. Heck they were just starting to fall in! Typical...

There was a small parade which I wasn't required to take part. Finally my excuse RMJ comes to good use. I thought it would be some crazy one, but in the end it was just a short parade. I suppose there was a talk and a moment of silence for the warriors in the past who lived and died for Singapore.

Then it was back to MSET course. Pretty alright for these two days. It's really good to learn more about how to maintain civilian-like (civilian like, because many military vehicles tend to be not the least civilian) vehicles, which will come in handy next time.

Nothing like a man who knows his tools I supppose. LOL

Been sleeping through some of the lessons though. I guess it's the legendary button at the bottom of no.4 pants working once again. Sit on it and any uniformed man sleeps.

Saw this article on MSN, more of a photo gallery actually, on the WAGS (Wives and Girlfriends) of the top footballers of Euro 2008.

Damn, I want to be a footballer too. Haha.

HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY: I COMPLETED THE 5X5X5 cube! =D
