The Post which Has Two Kneecaps

Just a short post!

It's been a fun and long week. Didn't drive much but I didn't have any leaves or offs to break up this week.

Surprisingly I felt a sense of achievement, as though surviving a full blown week of work is something I hadn't expected.

I also started to entertain thoughts of my post ORD plans in December. LOL. I have no idea why. Perhaps it's because:
a) Sinkiat's commissioning made me feel closer to my release.
b) many of my unit seniors are leaving soon.

7 more months plus plus to go. Heh.

It's also a weekend of sweaty, tiring, physical activity. I mean, I went to play sports again la. Haha.

Volleyball on Saturday. Huge mix up in schedule at first. I finally woke up on Saturday morning to realise both guys and girls training are on. So after a hasty breakfast in the coffee shop with my mom (nothing beats eggs and coffee =) ) I chionged down to TJ.

Out of shape out of shape. That's what I felt after my first few rounds of running and drills. Funnily enough my army life is much more sedentary than my JC and secondary school life.

During girls training I played the part role of coach. Not that I came up with any practice drills. Fung gave me the post of distributing the balls to the girls instead. I must say it's pretty fun. There's a definite possibility of me trying out for the volleyball coaching course at the end of the year, if there is one.

Sunday!

I dragged down my cramp-ridden and lactic acid-loaded legs down to Siglap to play basketball with Andre Sinkiat Jiahui Cheryl and Reuben. Top stuff.

The weather was pretty darn hot, until it gave way to dark clouds and cooler winds. Then it was full blown out proportioned 3v3 matches. Fun.

After which we spent 2 hours talking at the coffee shop nearby. Haha. The banter going around was wicked. Phrase of the day is "Reubs, so how?" LOL

It's another week of work. Good luck surviving everyone! =)

The Post which is 7K an 7M

Well it's been a while!

My last post was back in the start of the 2nd week of my 14-day confinement in camp for my accident. Finishing it gave me a strong sense of closure to my accident saga and I'm determined not to get into another one again.

Since then, two uneventful week have passed peacefully.

One thing about being confined for another 14 days is that, everything else now seems to pale in comparison. Going home late? That's fine with me. Stay in for a night? No big deal. Weekend detail? Sounds alright. Haha. Guess I now can manage to take things easier.

Back at work, everything else is working fine. It's the usual driving and stuff. Managed to clock my 7000km recently so I'm real glad and I can take it easier until ORD. Heh.

Speaking of which, ORD is just 7 odd months away. Hell yeah!

I've also managed to get a few days of rest here and there. Met and caught up with some friends which I haven't seen for those 2 weeks. It feels pretty damn strange when you suddenly get back a normal life.

During the course of 2 weeks, my camp guardhouse moved to another location. After my last day of confinement I was booking out, and then I realised to my utter embarrassment..

I DON'T KNOW HOW TO GET OUT OF CAMP!

Worse still, when I got Tenah Merah MRT Station, I got all confused again.

This train goes to Pasir Ris. Alright.. not the one I want. This train goes to... JOO KOON? Where on earth is that? And which train goes towards Boonlay? HUH?!!

Felt as though I was in jail for 14 years instead.

Played volleyball last Saturday again after a long hiatus again. Feels pretty damn good to run and jump around. Strangely enough I feel that my life in army is more sedentary than the one I had in JC or secondary school.

Anyway I'm set to miss out this week's training since there is none. T.T pity.

Another great event, MANCHESTER UNITED 1-4 LIVERPOOL! Although this is strictly of no relevance to my stagnating blog, it still feels good to gloat after getting a good one over our rivals at Old Trafford (of all places).

Well more updates next time! =)
