Alright end of the ambulance course!
Fricking had to wake up at like 5am each morning just to go for the course. Not that it's far, but the camp is rather inaccessible too. The funny thing is that I drive there from my own camp all the time but now I don't know which bus to take.
First up was a lot of emphasis on the instructors on how important the ambulance transport operators (big fanciful name for drivers) are, that we're are selected for being the safest and most skilled folks around.
And accident-free too. I conveniently averted my gaze from the instructors as they brought up that point.
It's a pretty much relaxed course. Just driving around and fiddling the medical equipment. I must say I'm surprised on how big an ambulance is. I could go the back cabin, where the patient is usually treated, and stand up straight. Cool stuff.
It's also the first time the course was held in Gloucester Camp, so we attracted a lot of attention as we blared the ambulance sirens (seriously fun) into the air, breaking the silence of a very quiet camp.
Some poor soul has to do my duties for these three days too. Sorry pal.
Meanwhile I'm off the enjoy a weekend of volleyball and good food outside!
